Clan Stewart Farm practices sustainable agriculture. We use NO pesticides, herbicides, or commercial fertilizers on our gardens or hayfields because we are aware of the potential health hazards linked to agricultural runoff.  We want to prevent herbicide, pesticide, and nitrate contamination of our spring and the stream running through the farm.

We have a very old farm, and are trying to reclaim old pastures that are grown up in brush and multi-flora rose from the years when they lay idle. We also have an NRCS conservation plan for our farm. That plan specifies no plowing of highly erodible fields and keeping our animals fenced away from the waterway.
